Quiz rules and prizes

How the quiz works

Every week we send three questions. Each one takes about twenty seconds. You answer on that week's page, and we post the answers in the following week's email with a short explanation.

Four weeks make a month, and each month has its own theme. The series runs September 2026 through April 2027 — eight themes in all.

How you earn entries

Every correct answer earns one entry in that month's drawing. Twelve questions a month means up to twelve entries. A wrong answer still counts as playing — it just doesn't earn an entry.

Entries reset at the start of each month. One winner is drawn each month for a Bambu Lab P1S 3D printer (or a comparable model if unavailable). Monthly drawings are held the first business day of each new month.

The eight shirts

Answer nine or more questions in a month and you earn that month's shirt. Correct or not — playing is what counts.

Each month has its own design, numbered one through eight. The shirts aren't sold and aren't handed out at events. Playing is the only way to get one.

The ninth shirt

Collect all eight monthly shirts and you unlock a ninth. It has its own design and is available no other way — not by purchase, not by request.

Miss a month? Attend an OST lunch-and-learn and that month counts as made up. There's no limit on make-ups, but events are limited.

The grand drawing

Everyone who earns the ninth shirt is entered in the grand drawing — which means earning a shirt in all eight months. The prize is a shirt custom-made for the winner by an actual tailor — measured, cut, and fitted. We are a company called Tailors. It seemed right.

The grand drawing is held May 1st 2027, after the final month closes.

The leaderboard

Every quiz email carries a running leaderboard showing the top three players by entries earned. Players appear as first name and last initial only — we don't publish full names, company names, or email addresses.

Would rather not appear at all? Reply to any quiz email and we'll leave you off it. You keep every entry and stay eligible for every prize.

Your running totals — questions played, correct answers, and entries this month — appear in the footer of every quiz email. Want a mid-month check? Reply to any quiz email and we'll look it up for you.

Eligibility and fine print

• No purchase necessary. Buying anything from OST does not improve your odds.
• Open to United States residents 18 and older.
• One entry per correct answer.
• OST employees, their family members, and vendor representatives are welcome to play but are not eligible for prizes.
• Public-sector participants — school, government, and public agency employees — are welcome to play and are eligible for the leaderboard and the numbered T-shirts. Where gift-acceptance rules apply, they are not eligible for the monthly 3D printer drawing or the grand drawing.
• The leaderboard shows first name and last initial only. Tell us and we will leave you off it entirely, with no effect on your entries or eligibility.
• Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
• OST may substitute a prize of equal value.
• Winners are notified by email at the address used to play.
